Moving Through The Aisles: How Active are Home Depot Associates?

February 29, 2016

Sitting behind a desk all day isn’t great for your health, no matter how much activity you do during off hours. How about looking for a job that keeps you active and engaged the entire time? Matt Hill is a flooring supervisor at The Home Depot, and one of his favorite things about the job is how much he moves.

“I typically don’t sit down much,” explains Matt. “It’s a very ‘in the aisles’ job where I respond to customers.”

Matt has been with the Staten Island, N.Y. store (#1281) for more than six years, and he likes how active his job is. “Time stands still when you’re behind a desk all day,” says Matt. “But it moves faster when you’re moving.”

But just how much does Matt move in a given day? We decided to follow along and see what a day is like for the associate.

“My favorite part of working at Home Depot is interacting with the different people—both customers and associates. I love coming into the store to see all my peers and I enjoy hearing customer stories. It’s what keeps me coming back.”
