As The Home Depot’s associates in its stores and Disaster Response Command Center work to support communities ravaged by Hurricanes Irma, Harvey and Maria, The Home Depot Foundation increased its financial commitment to $2 million for non-profit organizations to support hurricane relief efforts.
The funding targets relief efforts provided by a host of organizations such as American Red Cross, Convoy of Hope, Operation Blessing, Rebuilding Together and Team Rubicon. Team Depot – the company’s associate volunteer force – also serves side-by-side with partners on cleanup and rebuilding projects.
Meanwhile, The Homer Fund team has been staffing the Command Center to provide urgent emergency financial assistance to associates in need through The Home Depot’s employee assistance program.
“We’re going to stand by these communities, our customers and our associates to help rebuild and restore,” said Shannon Gerber, executive director of The Home Depot Foundation. “This is mother nature at its worst and human nature at its best.”
