The Home Depot Foundation Kicks Off National Volunteer Month with Service Projects for Veterans

April 01, 2025

In celebration of National Volunteer Month, The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, are rolling up their sleeves to give back to veterans and local communities through hands-on service projects across the country.

Throughout April, Team Depot will partner with Rebuilding Together and Volunteers of America affiliates and other nonprofit partners in more than a dozen cities to address critical accessibility needs for veterans, including building ramps, widening doorways, and making other essential home modifications. These projects are part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving the homes and lives of veterans and communities in need.

“For more than 30 years, Team Depot has been dedicated to making a difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Erin Izen, executive director of The Home Depot Foundation. “Our associates are passionate about giving back, and during National Volunteer Month, we’re proud to amplify their efforts to support veterans and ensure they have safe and accessible homes.”

Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has partnered with more than 10,000 nonprofit organizations, and Team Depot has contributed over 2.5 million hours of service to support veterans, respond to natural disasters, and meet the immediate needs of local communities. This spring, projects will span coast to coast, from renovating transitional housing facilities for veterans to revitalizing community centers that serve military families.
