MEET THE WORLD’S OLDEST LIVING VETERAN: MR. OVERTON

At 111 years old, the world’s oldest living veteran says, “I’ve got more life to live.”

Mr. Richard Overton served in WWI from 1940 to 1945, arriving to Pearl Harbor just seconds after the Japanese attacked.

Upon returning to the U.S., Mr. Overton built his house from the ground up in Austin, Texas. Now, almost 70 years later, he proudly dwells in the very same home. Accompanying the comfort of his own home is inevitable wear and tear that comes over the years.

The Home Depot Foundation joined Meals on Wheels Central Texas to make much-needed repairs to Mr. Overton’s home, making it once again accessible for his vibrant spirit.
