Physical and mental well-being are more important than ever. To help consumers make space for comfort, PPG Paints has announced its first ever Palette of the Year, “Be Well.”
The 2021 palette contains three colors emulating optimism and soothing nostalgia:
But paint isn’t the only thing PPG has offered in the face of the coronavirus.
As COVID-19 spread earlier in the year and a worldwide pandemic made hand sanitizers hard to find, The Home Depot asked PPG for a unique solution: to reconfigure one of their paint factories to produce sanitizer instead.
“At PPG, the health and safety of our employees, customers and communities is our top priority,” says Jenny Burroughs, the company’s director of product management and architectural coatings. “We strongly believe in partnering with our customers to create mutual value.”
PPG partnered with its subsidiary, Matthews Paint, and successfully produced 100,000 gallons of hand sanitizer. It was sent out to Home Depot stores and distribution centers for both associate and customer use.
The timely assist to help others is a tenet of the company’s values – the “PPG Way,” as Jenny says. “We’ve received positive feedback from The Home Depot’s merchandising team for stepping up and pivoting our attention and efforts during these uncertain times to prioritize the safety and well-being of associates and customers.”
PPG plans to produce up to 300,000 additional gallons of sanitizer for Home Depot stores as needed.
