This holiday season, it’s more difficult than ever for seniors to safely leave their homes and access a Christmas tree or holiday décor. To help, The Home Depot Foundation partnered with Meals on Wheels Atlanta to bring holiday cheer to them.
The nonprofit organizations worked together as part of The Home Depot Foundation’s annual Operation Surprise, a campaign assisting veterans and front-line workers across the country. This specific partnership brought physically distanced surprises to 25 Meals on Wheels’ Atlanta recipients across seven Atlanta zip codes. Small appliances, festive ornaments, holiday lights, meals and the choice of a real or artificial Christmas Tree appeared outside of each recipient’s home for a safe holiday surprise.
“We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Meals on Wheels Atlanta, especially as we work together to deliver joy to those in need during an unprecedented year,” says Home Depot Foundation Manager of Atlanta Programs and Partnerships Jena Alford.
As part of the Operation Surprise campaign, Team Depot volunteers celebrate frontline workers and their communities by lifting spirits and providing assistance.
