How a Vietnam Veteran's Recovery Gave Him Reason to Help Others

November 19, 2015

Michael spent his last year as a teenager deployed in the Vietnam War. At 19, he faced the unfathomable in war-stricken villages in Vietnam – life-altering experiences that would put him in a dark place upon his return home.

“I didn’t come back the same person I was when I left,” says Michael, “and I stayed that way for a long, long time.”

The Purple Heart recipient is helping today’s soldiers returning home through the MHMR of Tarrant County in Texas. His mantra? Help at least one veteran every single day.
