The Homer Fund: We’re All Orange at Heart

July 06, 2021

Over the past year, throughout our stores, distribution centers, warehouses and call centers, associates have become masters of the unknown. They’ve flexed new muscles, learned new skills and faced challenges head-on. While our individuality makes us stronger, we’re all united by a collective heartbeat. We’re all Orange at Heart.

The Homer Fund, the company’s employee assistance program, is funded by associates to help associates in need. The annual fundraising campaign celebrates the generosity of our associates and the number of ways it supports associates in need.

Rather than setting fundraising goals this year, we’re encouraging associates to show their support and share their #OrangeAtHeart stories. Associates can also purchase custom Orange at Heart merchandise by visiting THDGear.com where proceeds from each purchase will go back to supporting an associate in need.

Here are some of our orange-blooded associates:

Since 1999, The Homer Fund has granted nearly $215 million to more than 157,000 associates in need, thanks to the collective support from Home Depot associates. In 2020 alone, The Homer Fund supported associates through the unexpected by granting more than $2 million to associates for COVID-19 related struggles, including necessary travel, loss of childcare and illness.
