The Home Depot Foundation Reaches Quarter-Billion-Dollar Commitment to Veteran-Related Causes

May 04, 2018

In 2016, The Home Depot Foundation announced its goal of investing a quarter of a billion dollars in veteran-related causes by 2020.

Today, the Foundation met that goal - two years early.

CEO Craig Menear made the announcement at the Footsteps to the Future Gala presented by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation in New York City. The gala honored the 40th anniversary of the founding of The Home Depot. Founders Bernie Marcus, Arthur Blank and Ken Langone were in attendance, as well as former CEO Frank Blake.

Incorporating the values instilled by company founders and leaders, The Home Depot Foundation’s mission is to improve the homes and lives of U.S. military veterans, with a focus on serving homeless, combat-wounded and senior veterans. Through incredible partnerships with many organizations, the Foundation has enhanced nearly 40,000 veteran homes and facilities in more than 2,500 cities since 2011.
