Transforming a vintage motorcycle into a custom hot rod is an intense process. The time, artistry and attention to detail required for each build is tremendous.
Just ask Nick Erickson, owner of Pop’s Garage Fabrication in Georgia. A passionate craftsman, Nick started working on bikes when he was just a teenager – a hobby that turned into a full-time business with long days and nights of pouring his all into each custom build.
“When I’m working, I try to do something I feel hasn’t been done,” says Nick. “Sometimes I do things and spend hours or days on it, and I have to scrap it. But, that’s a part of trying something new.”
Trying to craft something original requires creativity not only around design, but also with how Nick uses tools. Through the process of refurbishing a bike, the tools in Nick’s garage take a serious beating and are used in unique ways. “To have the right tool that can do a variety of things is really important,” says Nick. “With the right tool, I’m not limited, and the sky’s the limit.”
When Nick caught wind of an opportunity to work on a custom bike creation with Husky, he rose to the challenge. Watch Nick transform a 1984 Harley Davidson FXRT into a Husky inspired motorcycle, and learn more about his craftsmanship in the video below.
