When bathing, finding the perfect water temperature is usually the first priority after turning on the faucet. If you’re assisting the elderly, helping your kids get squeaky clean or trying to get the mud out of Rufus’s fur coat, it becomes even more important to make sure that you’re getting the temperature right.
That’s what brought experts at Delta Faucet to develop the technology behind the Temp2O showerhead.
“We are in the age of information,” says Susan Peters, senior retail brand manager at Delta Faucet. “People want to know as much as possible about their habits, whether it’s tracking their daily steps or determining the exact water temperature they prefer.”
Delta Temp2O showerheads and hand showers help you avoid temperature surprises. An LED display shows the actual temperature of the water, and changes color so you know the temperature range at a quick glance. “If it’s above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, it shows red, if it’s that perfect sweet spot it shows magenta and if it’s below 80 degrees Fahrenheit it shows blue. It really takes the guesswork out of stepping into your shower,” explains Susan.
In addition to safety, there are other perks to knowing exactly what temperature you’re experiencing. “People often wonder, in terms of beauty, what temperature is best for skin,” shares Susan. “Contrary to popular belief, the American Academy of Dermatology found dry skin is better treated and sees better results when washing with above average temperatures.” One study determined that 103oF (± 2oF) is the best temperature to maintain ideal skin conditions.
Another reason to kick it up a notch: “Heightened water temperatures actually help scents bloom more strongly in the shower, so you can get an even more luxurious experience with your body washes, soaps and oils,” says Susan. Warm water can also help your hair by opening the cuticle and improving the effectiveness of your shampoo.
