Pairing Pups with Hometown Heroes

“We’re just trying to get these heroes back to where they were,” says Blake Rashad, founder of Top Dogg K9 Foundation.

Blake began Top Dogg K9 Foundation to support disabled veterans by training and pairing them with a K9. Once paired, the service dogs help veterans live day-to-day life with less anxiety, helping to reduce the number of families impacted by PTSD. For veterans like Kyle, service dogs are a critical component of adjusting to civilian life after serving our country.

And as part of The Home Depot Foundation’s long-standing, hometown partnership with Top Dogg, Team Depot volunteers came together to create a field with dog-safe turf for training the pups who are critical to Top Dogg’s mission.
