John Wright has lived in Atlanta his whole life and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. At 68 years old, he’s seen his fair share of the world, joining the U.S. Marine Corps directly after high school and eventually serving in Vietnam.
Today, he’s grateful to be living independently in his hometown with a little help from services like Meals on Wheels, an organization that addresses the issues aging seniors face in their homes: hunger, isolation and accessibility. Meals on Wheels has been delivering meals to John’s home in Atlanta’s historic Westside community for a little more than two years now.
Recently, Home Depot’s CEO Craig Menear sat down with John over lunch to hear this story as part of the Meals on Wheels #LetsDoLunch initiative.
