Supplier Diversity

Diverse business partnerships have allowed us to share unique ideas, explore different perspectives, and bring innovative products and services to our customers. Many diverse entrepreneurs have been integral to The Home Depot’s success.

Why we celebrate the diversity of our suppliers?
At the Home Depot, we envision a culture that brings people together to solve problems and creates meaningful solutions. This vision manifests as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Our DEI commitment increases the impact we have with our customers, our associates, and the communities we serve, and aligns with our values.

What is a diverse business?
A diverse business is a business that is at least 51% owned and operated by an individual or group that is part of a traditionally underrepresented or underserved group.  At the Home Depot, our values drive our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Home Depot formalized its Supplier Diversity program in 2003. Since then, we have been intentional in our goal to include diverse business owners in our supply chain who are minority-owned, woman-owned, veteran-owned, LGBT-owned or disability-owned.

Each year, we host an event to celebrate diverse business owners who sell products online and in our Home Depot stores.  At this event, we recognize the “Outstanding Partnerships & Innovation” among our diverse suppliers. Past recipients have included: M.S. International (MSI), King of Fans, Pure Beauty Farms, Back To The Roots, Architectural Mailboxes, Lavelle Industries, Rockwood Shutters, MAT Holdings, EZ-Flo and K-CO.

We honor our diverse business partners for Celebrate Diversity Month!

The Home Depot partners with the following business organizations and affiliates to seek out and support the development of diverse entrepreneurs: Women's Business Enterprise National Council; National Minority Supplier Development Council; National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development; Disability:IN; United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and United States Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce.
