While only three Major League Soccer (MLS) teams use orange as a team color, orange appears in MLS stadiums around the country – Home Depot orange, that is.
The Home Depot has served as the league’s exclusive home improvement retailer since 2008, and thanks to a recently announced multi-year partnership extension, that status will extend through the end of the 2022 season.
As part of their partnership, The Home Depot and the MLS also recently announced a collaborative marketing campaign, “Summer of Soccer.” The campaign highlights the league’s stars and The Home Depot’s new home appliance products from LG Electronics. The series of ads features MLS stars like 2017 MLS MVP Diego Valeri of the Portland Timbers, Diego Rossi of Los Angeles FC and Bastian Schweinsteiger of Chicago Fire.
In addition, the company will be the 2019 partner of the Campeones Cup. This year’s match will pit The Home Depot’s hometown MLS team, Atlanta United, against a Liga MX team on Aug. 14.
Soccer mania has grown dramatically over the past ten years. Since The Home Depot became a sponsoring partner of the MLS, the league has blossomed from 14 teams to 24. The Home Depot is proud to renew their partnership with MLS during this exciting time.
