Servicing the greater Boston area and the broader New England region, The Home Depot’s newest flatbed delivery center (FDC) is officially open in Westminster, MA.
As the 18th FDC in the network, this facility will help deliver oversized and bulk products faster and more efficiently to job sites.
Fulfillment and Facility Features
The 1.1-million-square-foot center shifts the heavy lifting of bulk orders away from store shelves and directly to active job sites. Key features include:
- Site-Direct Flatbed Delivery: Dispatches big and bulky supplies directly to active job sites via our flatbed delivery fleet, removing the transportation burden for Pros.
- Massive SKU Selection: Expansive inventory of heavy-duty building products, allowing Pros to order deep, job-lot quantities for entire projects in a single order.
- Relieving Neighborhood Stores: Fulfilling large orders from this specialized hub frees up valuable floor space and associate time at 80 regional stores, allowing local associates to focus on engaging with customers in the aisle.
"A Pro’s most valuable asset is their time, so we’re continuing to expand our flatbed delivery network to get heavy materials to more job sites faster and more efficiently," says Michael Rowe, executive vice president of Pro for The Home Depot. "It’s critical that our Pros can rely on fast, reliable delivery so they can get the materials they need, when and where they need them – keeping crews on-site and projects on schedule."
The Interconnected Pro Ecosystem
To ensure crews have everything they need to run their businesses smoothly, this FDC works hand-in-hand with a robust suite of digital and financial business tools:
- Order Management & Delivery Services: Pros can schedule deliveries to arrive when and where their crews need them, including same-day and next-day delivery on eligible items.
- Trade Credit: Flexible financing options that delay invoicing until materials are delivered.
- Preferred Pricing: Transparent savings based on the purchasing needs of Pros.
- Dedicated Sales Support: Specialized Pro sales professionals to help with product selection and job-site delivery logistics.
- Digital Project Tools: AI-enabled project planning tools and workspace to help Pros manage their projects, all at their fingertips.
