Orange Hearts, Green Thumbs: Celebrating Team Depot’s Commitment to Community

April 01, 2026

As the first blooms of the season appear, The Home Depot is getting back to its roots in the garden and in the community. From April 1 through April 30, The Home Depot Foundation’s annual Spring Volunteering Campaign will see thousands of associates across the country complete projects that transform lives and neighborhoods. This year is a special celebration of a major milestone that defines our culture of giving back.

A Legacy of Service: 30 Years of Team Depot

For more than 30 years, Team Depot has been at the heart of our mission. What began as a foundational commitment to community service has evolved into a massive movement of associate volunteerism. These dedicated Home Depot associates give up their own time off to serve their neighbors. Whether it’s landscaping a community center or repairing a local park, Team Depot represents our fundamental value of giving back to the communities where we live and work.

15 Years of Veteran Support

This spring also marks the 15-year anniversary of The Home Depot Foundation’s formal financial commitment to improving veteran housing. Since 2011, The Foundation has been on a mission to ensure our nation's heroes have a safe, comfortable place to call home. Over the years, we’ve:

  • Improved 70,000 veteran homes and facilities
  • Invested $650 million in veteran causes
  • Helped cut veteran homelessness in half

Scale That Makes a Difference

The scale of our volunteerism is unique in the retail world. Team Depot has partnered with more than 15,000 nonprofit organizations to scale our impact. Our associates bring more than just "helping hands" to a project; they bring the skills and the heart required to make lasting changes. As we kick off this April campaign, we celebrate the three decades of legacy behind us and the thousands of veterans and communities we will continue to serve in the years ahead.

"Giving back is who we are. For 30 years, our associates have proven that the best way to build a community is to roll up your sleeves and get to work alongside your neighbors."

— Erin Izen, Executive Director of The Home Depot Foundation
