​Executive Vice President, U.S. Stores

Marvin Ellison oversees operations for The Home Depot’s nearly 2,000 U.S. stores. He brings nearly 30 years of retail experience to The Home Depot and is responsible for driving customer service, sales and productivity across the company’s retail divisions, including the installation and Pro businesses.

Marvin has been instrumental in reviving The Home Depot’s focus on customer service by streamlining processes and removing unnecessary tasks from our stores. In doing so, he has freed up the time associates once spent on operational tasks, reports and backend operations so they can focus on serving customers in the aisles. These strategic productivity initiatives, along with renewed customer service training programs, have been key drivers of the company’s higher customer satisfaction scores, as well as sales.

Before his promotion to EVP of U.S. stores in August of 2008, Marvin was president of the Northern Division of The Home Depot. Previously, Marvin served as senior vice president of global logistics. His team oversaw all domestic distribution, transportation, store and appliance delivery, import distribution and international logistics throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, China and more than 35 other countries. Prior to his role in global logistics, Marvin was the vice president of loss prevention.

Before joining The Home Depot, Marvin spent 15 years with Target Stores in a variety of operational roles.

In 2014, Marvin joined the FedEx Corporation board of directors where he is a member of their compensation committee. He is actively involved in philanthropic efforts including inner-city school renovations, as well as mentoring programs aimed at developing inner-city youth.

Marvin earned a business administration degree in marketing from the University of Memphis and a Master of Business Administration from Emory University.
