Brad Shaw

Affairs
Brad Shaw is the vice president of corporate communications and external
affairs. He is responsible for global corporate communications, public
relations, crisis communications, community affairs, The Homer Fund, The Home
Depot Foundation and events management.
Prior to joining the Company in 2004, Brad served as senior vice president of
corporate communications at Gateway Inc. His responsibilities included all
aspects of corporate communications and external affairs. In 2002, he assumed
responsibility for Gateway’s marketing communications and advertising,
including the company’s Olympic sponsorship during the 2002 Salt Lake City
Games, as well as the successful implementation of a companywide rebranding
effort.
Before joining Gateway, Brad held a variety of communications positions,
including director and senior manager for The Pepsi-Cola Company. He also
served in senior account management positions for Ketchum Public Relations and
Doremus Public Relations in New York.
Brad is actively involved in philanthropic efforts. He serves on the board of
directors for The Points of Light Foundation, Ken’s Kids and The Homer Fund,
an associate-funded nonprofit that provides short-term assistance to Home
Depot associates who encounter hardship due to catastrophic circumstances.
Brad has also served on the board of directors of KaBOOM!, a nonprofit
organization that links communities and corporations together to provide
children with safe, accessible playspaces.
Brad is a member of The Arthur W. Page Society, an organization for senior
public relations and corporate communications executives, and has guest
lectured at Harvard Business School, New York University, Emory University,
Washington and Lee University and the College of Charleston. He earned a
bachelor’s degree in journalism from Washington and Lee University in
Lexington, Va.
