Consumer Education

The Home Depot supports a number of programs to empower you to make wise environmental choices.

Before You Renovate, Investigate

Through a partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Home Depot has launched a program about the proper ways to renovate homes that may contain lead-based paint. For more information on lead issues, call 1-800-424-LEAD.

Change for the Better with Energy Star

The Home Depot joined ENERGY STAR as a retail partner in 2000 to promote ENERGY STAR by featuring a wide array of energy-efficient, ENERGY STAR-labeled products in stores and educating associates and customers on ways to save energy at our "Save Energy. Save Money" Web site.

Powersmart Program

Our sponsorship of Canada's Powersmart Program promotes efficient energy use in homes.
